Octavio Pardo is a graphic designer specialized in typography design. His work is based on his confidence in the power of ideas and always try to find the precise concept that can work only and exclusively for each project.
Born in Pamplona (Spain), Octavio Pardo got his first degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. After several years of work in several design studios and advertising agencies, in 2010 he graduated in the master’s degree in typography design from the University of Reading. Since then he has worked with some of the best typographers and designers in the world, including Tobias Frere-Jones, Jean François Porchez, Type-Together, Leftloft or Sharp Type. He has been a Google consultant and guest professor at the University of Gjøvik, Norway and at the UNAV in Pamplona. He currently codirects the Ashler Design studio, where he develops graphic design, web and typography projects for clients such as Google, Philip Morris, Porcelanosa and Telefónica.
His work is based on his confidence in the power of ideas and always try to find the precise concept that can work only and exclusively for each project.
His work has been recognized by the Type Directors Club, Communication Arts or the Laus awards. He has taught typography courses at the MIT Media Lab, the communication school in Kiev or at the Lasalle School in Singapore. He lives on horseback between Spain and Denmark, where he is doing a PhD in readability for people with vision problems at the Royal Danish Academy (KADK).
