Blanca Martí, born in 1981 in Barcelona, studied History of Art at the University of Barcelona and graduated in June 2004. She was also studying illustration at the Women’s School of the Diputació de Barcelona (2003-06) and drawing at the Olga Valls School of Painting (2002-05). She specialized in scientific illustration through several courses at the University of Barcelona with the Galanthus Association and the University of Valencia with the illustrator Carles Puche. Currently, she continues to be trained as a painter with Rosa Vidal Tossas.
She has different publications and exhibitions on a national and international level, among which there are scientific and informative books in Catalonia, Costa Rica, Brazil or Nicaragua, posters for natural parks (such as the Natural Park of Montnegre and El Corredor or the reserve of Dindefello, in Senegal), pedagogical material for nature houses, and illustrations in nature magazines. Currently, she works mainly for the projects of the Editorial Zona Tropical de Costa Rica. She has also published children’s books, with a pedagogical, scientific and naturalistic theme in several publishing houses.

Her experience is also as teacher, being currently professor of the master’s degree in Primatology of the Mona Foundation and the University of Girona (2014-2017). At the university level, she has taught in the Animal Knowledge Postgraduate Course in the animal world of Animal Latitude and the University of Barcelona (2016-2017) and the master’s degree in Ethology at the University of Granada. She teaches drawing courses with various entities such as Signatus (Centre for study and dissemination of the Wolf), since 2008; at the Museum of Natural Sciences of Granollers (2018), at the Botanic Garden of Barcelona, at the Higher Centre for Art and Design Serra i Abella (2014-2018) and the Massana School (2017-2018) among others. Also, with Illustration and Animal latitude, in the Centre for Sea Studies of the Diputació de Barcelona, in the Green Room of the Sagrada Familia and the Darder Museum in Banyoles.
